DESCRIPTION:Join us from 9:00am-12pm as we add plantings and beautify  Legacy Park’s wetlands. We’ll plant native vegetation along the wetland area\, stabilize the stream bank\, provide food for wildlife\, and provide a calm and aesthetically welcoming environment for the community to learn about the importance of wetland areas. \nWear clothes appropriate to getting dirty and bring gloves and digging tools to augment what Legacy Decatur will also be providing. Water will be provided but please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Lunch will be served as we wrap up at noon. \nAll types of ecosystems are important but wetlands are particularly vital for stormwater management\, pollution filtration\, and wildlife habitat. DESCRIPTION:This free tour will cover approximately one mile of hiking through the woods to view the five beaver dams that make up the Legacy Park beaver complex. \nThese dams create rich wetland\, pond\, and stream habitats\, supporting diverse aquatic\, terrestrial\, and avian species. \nWe’ll also observe forest restoration efforts\, including the removal of invasive plants and replanting with native trees and shrubs. \nMeet up with us in front of the Cochran Building at 1:00pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join us from 9:00am-12pm as we add plantings and beautify  Legacy Park’s wetlands. We’ll plant native vegetation along the wetland area\, stabilize the stream bank\, provide food for wildlife\, and provide a calm and aesthetically welcoming environment for the community to learn about the importance of wetland areas. \nWear clothes appropriate to getting dirty and bring gloves and digging tools to augment what Legacy Decatur will also be providing. Water will be provided but please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Lunch will be served as we wrap up at noon. \nAll types of ecosystems are important but wetlands are particularly vital for stormwater management\, pollution filtration\, and wildlife habitat.
